My Gym Bag Must-Haves

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I'm always curious as to what people put in their cart at the grocery store, as well as what people consider 'staples' for their gym bags. That being said, I decided to do a quick post about what I consider my gym bag staples!

There are a few of the items that I always have in my gym bag:
I don't use all of this stuff every day, but I use it every week so I typically tote is around with me every time I go to the gym. Two of my favorite items are my polar heart rate monitor and my gymboss interval timer.

I don't know about you, but trying to use my phone to listen to music and time intervals while I work out is next to impossible for me. Back in college when I taught boot camp classes every day, I used an interval timer to time my classes circuits. I decided to purchase a Gymboss interval timer for my personal use and I absolutely love it. You can choose how long you want each interval to last and how long of a break you want in-between intervals. You can program it to beep or vibrate as well. It has a clip on the back and if I don't have it on the floor in front of me, I clip it to my shirt or to the top of my shoe.

As far as toiletries, I always have to have lotion, deodorant and body spray.

I wash my hands all the time (especially after being in the weight room) and public bathroom soaps leave my hands feeling super dry so I always keep a small travel size bottle of lotion in both my purse and gym bag. I also keep extra hair ties and an extra headband in my bag for those times my hair ties decide to snap or my hair is getting in the way.

Many times when I leave the gym I do not go straight home so I often find myself having to freshen up in the bathroom before I leave. So the deodorant, body spray and hair brush are all necessities!
