Kick Butt HIIT Workout

Happy, happy Monday!

How was everyones weekend? Ours was pretty uneventful. Typical weekend stuff, laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking. I really feel like I could use this:
Who's with me?

As I mentioned last week, my schedule was a bit all over the place this last week since I started a new job. I was unsure how long it would take me to get to my office in the mornings so I decided to play it safe and not go to the gym in the morning before work and risk being late. Now that I have a pretty good idea how long my commute is, I plan on getting my workouts in before work each day.

I only made it to the gym two days last week which frustrated me quite a bit. I did, however, get in an awesome HIIT workout on Thursday night. It was an hour long class and a total butt kicker. Here is what the workout looked like:

Kick Butt HIIT Workout

I know that some of these moves may be a bit hard to figure out based on their description but I did my best at naming them.

For the first exercise, single dumbbell overhead press to knees to chest, start with one dumbbell (held end on end) at your chest. Press it overhead and as you lower it back down to your chest, bring one knee up to chest level. Alternate legs each time.

For the squat to chest press, start with the dumbbell at your chest again (held end on end) and as you squat down, press the dumbbell out away from your chest, keeping your arms parallel to the floor.

Now, for the single dumbbell rows to shoulder press: start with your right leg back in a slight lunge with your left hand on your left knee and a dumbbell in your right hand. Perform a row, driving your elbow back and squeezing your shoulder blades at the top of the movement. After you complete the row, flip the dumbbell up to shoulder level and complete a single arm shoulder press. Make sure you complete each move in its entirety before moving on to the next move. Row and then shoulder press.

I feel like the rest of the moves are pretty self explanatory. But please ask me if you have any questions!

Anyone else a huge HIIT lover like me?!
