Weekend Recap + Starting a New Job

Happy Monday, everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and that your Monday is off to a good start! I'm actually starting a new job today and I"m super excited!

I spent my last week day as a domestic engineer (housewife!) by the pool.

The weather has been humid and hot, hot, hot in Houston lately. So swimming definitely alleviated a bit of the Texas heat.

Snacks by the pool included some strawberries and a Quest Bar. If you have never let your Quest Bar heat up in the sun, you're missing out. I'm convinced that this is really the only way one should eat a Quest Bar.

After a few hours by the pool I headed back to the house to get ready for a bowling event that was being put on by Schoen's company. We bowled 2 games and had a blast! My top score for the night was 132. I was pretty proud of myself!

I kicked off Saturday morning with a much needed pedicure and manicure.

After I was done at the nail salon Schoen and I headed downtown to the Audi dealership to check out a car that we had been waiting to arrive for the past month. Unfortunately, we got there and we were told that the car we wanted to buy was sold at 8pm the previous night. What are the chances?!

The Audi dealership felt bad that they made us drive all the way into Houston with out checking the status of the car beforehand. They offered to give us a great deal on another car. We test drove it and decided to go to lunch to think things over. I was craving sushi so we went to Ra Sushi.

The sushi there is unreal and I had no trouble polishing off edamame and two rolls.

After lunch we headed back to the dealership and decided to say goodbye to Schoen's white Audi A6 and make an upgrade because the deal they were offering us was just too good to pass up.

After making one last counter proposal, we were the proud owners of a Audi A8L.

This car is fully loaded and has just about everything you can think of...including massage seats!

This makes sitting in traffic so much better!

By the time all of the paperwork was finalized we were exhausted and ready to go home. We had a quick dinner at Bakers Street and then called it a night.

Sunday was the busiest day of our weekend. Because I'm starting a new job I decided to do some meal prep that way I would have food for lunch during the week. Roxie was clearly bored by all the cleaning, cooking and lack of couch time that was going on.

Dinner last night and today's lunch will be grilled chicken topped with fire roasted poblanos with some jasmine rice on the side.

I marinated the chicken in some olive oil, chipotles in adobo and some spices all day long. It makes for some pretty tasty grilled chicken.

I also semi-prepped some dinner food and all I will need to do is finish off the food in the oven later in the week.

In between 4 loads of laundry, dusting, vacuuming and grocery shopping I managed to make it to the gym.

I did a one hour body pump class and it felt good to work up a sweat!

I hope you all have a great Monday!
