Fit Chocoholic's Friday Favorites #21

Yay for Friday! I don't know about you, but this week flew by for me. I'm sure glad it's almost the weekend because we have a fun date night planned for Saturday night.

As usual, here is this weeks Friday Favorites post! Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Favorites

Lemon Cake Donuts

Baked Lemon Cake Donuts

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by Bed Bath & Beyond to pick up a meat mallet with a gift card I had from when I purchased my favorite pots and pans. Well, I have wanted a donut pan for quite some time now so I decided to pick up one while I was there as well.

I made the lemon cake donuts pictured above last night and they are delicious. They have vanilla greek yogurt in them which makes them super moist. I will post the recipe if anyone wants it!

El Dorado Royale Casitas in Riviera Maya

Our trip to Riviera Maya had to make my Friday Favorites list today! Three recap posts of our time there can be found here, here and here.

Season's Harvest Cafe

Last weekend I went to Season's Harvest Cafe for the first time and I was absolutely blown away. Season's Harvest is a local farm to table cafe here in Cypress, Texas that serves whole foods that are in season and grown locally.

For lunch I had raw taco salad topped with a raw cilantro jalapeƱo dressing. The 'taco meat' was made of nuts and spices and a cashew sour cream. The salad consisted of diced tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, watermelon, avocado, raw organic corn, jicama, purple cabbage and organic greens. It was served with a cucumber-mint limeade to drink. I was so impressed with their lunch that Schoen and I decided to meet up with one of his co-workers and his wife for breakfast the next morning.

For breakfast I had the gluten-free buckwheat pancakes and a sausage link on the side. Schoen had a breakfast taco which was two local farm fresh organic eggs and homestyle potatoes wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. He said it may have been the best breakfast wrap he's ever had and that says a lot!

MyFitnessPal

At the beginning of this week I decided to hop on the IIFYM bandwagon and start tracking my macronutrients (macros). I've used MyFitnessPal for years, but it has been so handy and helpful as an aid to track my specific macros this last week. You can download this app on your phone and you can also access it online.

If you're curious about what IIFYM is all about, I will be doing a roundup post next week which will feature a bunch of fellow FitFluential Ambassadors blog posts explaining everything you might need to know about it. Stay tuned!
